  1. Sending OSC messages (to know Glypheo status)

It would be useful if Glypheo sent, via OSC messages, several parameters. This way, we could know Glypheo status from another software. I am thinking in particular of the row number, or even the brightness (or blackout).

  2. Scrolling Text

In UK theatre, we traditionally caption with 3 lines of text which scrolls up line by line, rather than a new card with 3 fresh lines. Glypheo is a much nicer software to use than the alternatives, but this would really help make it easier for audiences to follow in the way that they're used to.

  3. OSC command for just Blackout, without Next

I trigger Glypheo from Qlab, getting the output through Syphon. I sometimes need to blackout (like when the players get lost in their lines) and have to remember to select the line before the one I want to project, because the OSC command includes Next. I know there is a hotkey, but that only works with Glypheo in focus, and in my case it isn’t….

  4. Seperate line break delimiter on import

Seperate line break delimiter on import - It would be amazing to define a character as a delimiter for line breaks within a surtitle on import. I often get song lyrics where a character is singing a short passage and the linebreaks are defined by a / whereas new surtitles simply begin on a new line in the document the lyrics arrive in. Therefore it would be amazing for me to be able to define a line break delimiter when importing to a track - The surtitle would simply create itself in the right format for me and require no…

  5. Add Italics to "default style"

In the "default style" the "style" (Bold, Italic, underlined) is missing you can't change to italics for a single track which is useful when you have two languages on one screen

  6. Shortcut for "go to surtitle number ..."

It's often needed, especially during rehearsals, that one has to go to a surtitle typing its number.
While the search field works, it's slower to catch the mouse, etc. than typing a key, in case of emergency.
    It could be either:
    - N followed by the number
    - ESC or CMD F to activate the search field then, once reached, ESC again to come back to normal display

  7. Subtitle with black outline

    Dear makers of Glypheo,

I'm Siemen van der Werf from the Rotterdam based theatre company Wunderbaum. We are working with you great application Glypheo for some time already on different productions. For our new production we are using it as a program so make a subtitle layer over live video with camera. We have the problem that it is sometimes hard to read and we would really like to make a black outline around the white subtitles to make the visibillity better. But we cannot find this function. We also tried to do this via Qlab (through which the titles…

  8. Control Points

Although this software is amazing, and works perfect with Qlab. Would bé cgeat to have control points to move the corners on order to fit in the projection surface

  10. Improve "Insert Intermediate Surtitles"

    • Instead of putting this command only in the gear icon of surtitles, it should also figure in the Surtitle menu near the other Insert commands.
    • a shortcut such as "SHIFT ALT Down Arrow" (to be in phase with the other Insert commands) would also be great!

Create groups anywhere (not only at the end) and drag and drop surtitles into groups.

  12. Fail to export track

Export track is failed in MacOS Mojave 10.14.6, are there any other way to extract the text? I'm a developer too and I need to extract the text urgently so any complicated method that helps is fine for me, thank you.

    Hello.
This place is for new ideas, not support or bug report. However, we tested export feature on macOS 10.14.6 and it is working fine. If your text is white, you exported file will be probably a white page, but there is still text in it.

  13. Space and/or graphics between tracks

I use two different tracks for different languages (surtitling for an opera theatre). Each track has normally two lines, so in the big screen above the stage the audience sees 4 line moving. For long and rich librettos (read Wagner) it’s sometimes a tiresome and even disturbing activity.

It would be very useful, in order to help the audience to read the single track/language of choice, to be able to insert some space between the tracks.

Or even better, to insert a fixed graphic line or a fixed point. The eye sees the point or the line and read under…

  15. Changing screens

I have a problem when I have a file already used with one setup and then I go to another theatre and there is another projector. Somehow I can't change the screen/projector in the panel configuration.
The only way I get it to work is with importing the raw text from .doc files.

Should it be possible to change an existing Glypheo file to different projector setups?

    regards,
    Jacco Windt

  17. Glypheo for tablets and phones

It would be great to be able to use Glypheo for tablets and phones as well and send the titles through wifi. The existing apps are not good enough, so there is a potential market for it. I’d be grateful for starters.

  18. I hope that Glypheo can write vertically.

I am using this software in Asia. Since my mother tongue is vertical writing, I hope that Glypheo can write vertically.

  19. Advanced options for fades

    Have an option to include:
    1. Fade-out to black with timings
    2. Columns displaying fade-in and fade-out timings
    3. Fade through black or crossfade option

At the moment, fade-to-black is only possible with a blank cue. However, timing the next cue needs to wait for the "fade" from the blank cue.

  20. crossfade

For opera and theater a crossfade is less distractive the a fade over black.
